Mouse Arrives

Sleep fought hard to stay away.

Bart arose from bed about the time I closed my eyes. It was not long before I cover my head with a pillow escaping the rising sun.

It feels like a week packed itself into the last two days.  When I woke after 3 hours sleep Bart told me all the people he talked with and the Serve Pro guy stopped by saying, “It looks like you are doing a very good job.”

Bart did go to the store while I slept for drinking water. Later someone from town brought buckets of water for flushing the toilet.  Finally we connected with our neighbor and water is flowing through a garden hose! Joy fills our hearts as water arrives to wash our hands.

It feels like God is saying, “Clean the basement!”

The city will pay to put in a new line, so we are not spending money for anything but water so far.

I did ask the water guy about the portability of the water.

He said, “I can’t tell you it is safe because it is going through a garden hose.”

As the conversation changed to the life we lived drinking out of garden hoses and playing on such dangerous toys as seesaw. The younger man who has young kids coveted those days.

I am drinking some of the water but with my refined taste buds the hose is not preferable. Maybe I will ask my neighbor to fill my pitcher in her house and bypass the hose for drinking water?

Thankfully we have not lost anything important, I did find a wet box of Christmas decorations we used this year but when I dumped it out everything inside was in good shape.

God is so very good. The mouse came in the mail today and it took a little finagling to get it to connect to my computer. What I notice the most is the ease of the keyboard of my desktop compared to the laptop. I am Thankful for both.

I am trying this writing everyday on my blog. The writing is a bit different. Do any of you have a preference? I do need to get to bed it is 3:36 A.M.

God Bless You with a wonderful night’s sleep and a day filled with Love! In Christ Jesus Name I Pray! Amen.

The NEXT Day

THIS morning started with the realization that my rechargeable mouse died, an easy fix to buy a new one.

On the other hand, just as I was making dinner, I heard water running.

Bart went downstairs to get a light bulb and found water pouring into the basement from between two bricks, it was covering most of the floor but there were some dry spots yet. We turned off the water to the house but the water keep pouring in.

Who do you call at 9:00 P.M. on Memorial Day?

Bart tried a few numbers and finally called the police.

They arrived in minutes and got to work trying to find a way to stop the water and helping to gather water in a bucket and put it down a drain. They brought some putty to try and it worked except the water started to push through in a different spot.

The Police did get a hold of the man in charge of the water. He arrived  and shut off the water line to the house. God Bless the Police in this town!

They all thought the water must have been leaking for a while, but there are no puddles of water anywhere but the basement.

I heard it when it started about 5:00 but it was such a little noise, by 8:00 I knew water was running somewhere. God Is Good!

God has a way of making things known early so the damage is minimal.

A God Day

Do you ever have a day when everything goes so well, it feels like God is preparing every step for you to succeed?

Today has been like this for me. I talked with a woman after church and when I mentioned my blog she said, “It is good practice to write every day.”

I didn’t tell her it is more like every few weeks I publish something. But God has given me the ability to sit up and write on my computer every day for the last year, save the funeral. Considering my scoliosis it is a miracle.

Her comment has stayed with me all day, but to publish something daily seems much more intimate.

The rest of the day has gone wonderful until I sat down at my computer and found both my key board and mouse were out of battery, so I have turned to my laptop computer to write. It is not as comfortable, but maybe God is suggesting I use it more often and get comfortable with it?

Some times a God uses a problem to move us to a new area we don’t want to do but really need to.

Color

This last winter I watched a movie with a girl who couldn’t read until her mother showed her using different highlight colors separate the words.

Dose anyone else do this?

It explained why I color my Bible, books, and my blog posts. When everything is all one color it all bleeds together.

Forty years ago in college I understood my trouble with tests, dates, and directions is from  dyslexic tendencies.

Now at sixty I learn highlighting  and different color ink helped me overcome deficiencies?

Who Knew It Would Help Me Read? I thought color only brings Joy! Only Jesus would Know what I Need!

GOD IS SO VERY GOOD!
